It looks that since ntpdate has been shipped in the ntp package it doesn't have a man page. But you can direct your preferred web browser to /usr/doc/ntp*/html/ntpdate.html instead.

Me neither (on 15.0). I meant it as a request to add that manual page. :-)

... So you insist to have in Slackware a man page for an obsolete command that you know how to produce yourself using roff or pandoc or... ? Seriously? the man page from Debian says:

But of course you are free to request

mkinitrd's init:
  • For almost-full drive encryption users who already unlocks in grub, add support for embedded (no device) key file in /lukskey:

    Code:
    :/path/to/file
  • For multiple key slot users, add support for key slot number (-S <0-N>), so luksOpen doesn't have to try more slots, e.g.:

    Code:
    LABEL=<partition_label>:/path/to/file:7
  • Do deferred devices miss LUKSOPTS on purpose?

    Code:
            if echo $LUKSTRIM | grep -wq $LUKSDEV 2>/dev/null ; then
              LUKSOPTS="--allow-discards"
            else
              LUKSOPTS=""
            fi
            if [ -z "${LUKSOPTS}" ]; then
              echo "Unlocking LUKS encrypted device '${LUKSDEV}' as luks mapped device '$CRYPTDEV':"
            else
              echo "Unlocking LUKS encrypted device '${LUKSDEV}' as luks mapped device '$CRYPTDEV' with '$LUKSOPTS':"
            fi
            /sbin/cryptsetup ${LUKSOPTS} ${LUKSKEY} luksOpen ${LUKSDEV} ${CRYPTDEV} </dev/tty0 >/dev/tty0 2>&1
  • Bonus: If they don't then I see possible refactoring:

    Code:
            if echo $ROOTDEV | grep -q "LABEL=" || echo $ROOTDEV | grep -q "UUID=" ; then
              CRYPTDEV="luks$(basename $LUKSDEV)"
            elif [ "x$ROOTDEV" = "x$(basename $ROOTDEV)" ]; then
              CRYPTDEV="$ROOTDEV"
            else
              CRYPTDEV="luks$(basename $LUKSDEV)"
            fi
            if echo $LUKSTRIM | grep -wq $LUKSDEV 2>/dev/null ; then
              LUKSOPTS="--allow-discards"
            else
              LUKSOPTS=""
            fi
            if [ -z "${LUKSOPTS}" ]; then
              echo "Unlocking LUKS encrypted device '${LUKSDEV}' as luks mapped device '$CRYPTDEV':"
            else
              echo "Unlocking LUKS encrypted device '${LUKSDEV}' as luks mapped device '$CRYPTDEV' with '$LUKSOPTS':"
            fi
            /sbin/cryptsetup ${LUKSOPTS} ${LUKSKEY} luksOpen ${LUKSDEV} ${CRYPTDEV} </dev/tty0 >/dev/tty0 2>&1
            if [ "$ROOTDEV" = "$LUKSDEV" -o "$ROOTDEV" = "$CRYPTDEV" ] ; then
              ROOTDEV="/dev/mapper/$CRYPTDEV"
            fi
    Code:
            if echo $ROOTDEV | grep -q "LABEL=" || echo $ROOTDEV | grep -q "UUID=" ; then
              CRYPTDEV="luks$(basename $LUKSDEV)"
            elif [ "x$ROOTDEV" = "x$(basename $ROOTDEV)" ]; then
              CRYPTDEV="$ROOTDEV"
            else
              CRYPTDEV="luks$(basename $LUKSDEV)"
            fi
            echo "Unlocking LUKS encrypted device '${LUKSDEV}' as luks mapped device '$CRYPTDEV':"
            /sbin/cryptsetup ${LUKSKEY} luksOpen ${LUKSDEV} ${CRYPTDEV} </dev/tty0 >/dev/tty0 2>&1
            if [ "$ROOTDEV" = "$LUKSDEV" -o "$ROOTDEV" = "$CRYPTDEV" ] ; then
              ROOTDEV="/dev/mapper/$CRYPTDEV"
            fi

patch used in Slint64-14.2.1.4 is attached. Maybe I had already posted it or linked to it, not sure about that.
