wifi not working on a frish install of slackware 14.1

Ijuust installed slackware 14.1 on a dell studio no problems wifi works just fine out of the box
(the athrous usb adpter havent touched the BCM4322 yet)
I also installed 14.1 on a HP mini-210 the athrous usb wifi adpter dose not work
I get the error "SIOCSIFFLAGE operation not possible due to RF-kill" this is on the the athrous usb adpter as well as the BCM4312
built in with firmware installed
the athrous should work out the box I want the athrous adapter working
I allready know the broadcom adpters are problematic I have had the dell BCM4322 working just by installinng the firmare
BUT

With 30 seconds of searching Google I found https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic....24810#p1324810 - does it solve your error?

And please try not to make your posts look like a randomly typed mess - if you do not respect your readers then do not bother to post.

Broadcom usually takes a few extra steps to get working. This might help: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ux-4175434970/

Google has quite a limited capacity for guessing what you really mean when you mis-type things.

You might need the b43-firmware package from SlackBuilds.org as Broadcom requires loadable firmware with the driver.

If you have problems still, you can try the broadcom-sta driver from the same website. It's the OEM driver and might be more supportive.

However, in this case, it is likely Google would've caught the mistake and searched for the correct terms or at least provided you what it thought was the right terms.

You have shown us your needs! What were your deeds? As Eric stated, You do need to present detailed information that will help us to help you. What have you done? What information is presented back to you in the logs? Track your system by viewing the information presented. Work on one device and get it working then we can help to hopefully get the second working. Please present back to us any relative information so we can discern the issue(s) at hand.

Slackware Doc Project may help you to solve the issue(s). Do a LQ search for each adapter while attempting to get it working, I know both have been presented and solved here at LQ by members. By working on one issue at a time it will likely get solved without confusions.

Scroll down in this thread to see 'Similar threads' that could lead to some useful information.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Such harsh comments... Here is a tutorial on how to search on google.

https://support.google.com/websearch...r/134479?hl=en

It shows up as the first result in practically every search engine. I found it by searching with "How to search on Google".

Some people are Google search impaired... my supervisor is a big shot Cisco engineer and he can't find squat in Google...

He always comes to me: "Fred, can you Google search for such and such... I suck at Google and you seem to always find what you need." ;-)

the rfkill unblock all did the trick for the athrous adapter
the broadcom just needed the firmware installed
