good link 2damncommon.... Solaris is indeed free for a single CPU system (for home use, for example). i'm not sure how much it costs for multiple CPUs or whole networks, but it's certainly available for free download. It's about US$20 for Intel though.

ah... yes, i do have a SPARC machine actually, an Ultra 1 Creator
and i guess i didn't make it too clear that it's free for SPARC only, but i thought the fact that it cost $20 for Intel implied that forgive my bad use of logic
