"su - " command

When will it be advisable to use "su -" command or "login" command with Solaris , to switch between users loginame and root loginame ?

Because when I was insatlling FC4 (not solaris), I noticed this message on one of a screen that appears during installation:

"----non-root acount (I could not catch the word) use su - to login as root------"

This message is harmless.
You can use "su -" or "login" anytime you need to, and leave this account as soon as it is no more required.

With Solaris 10, RBAC should be used to reduce the cases when the root account is needed.
