Suse 9.2, iscan -1-14 and Epson RX510 MFU

I have Suse 9.2 running OK, RX 510 works OK with printer section, but no response from the scanner which approximates the output from Epson Scan under MS.

I have removed and reinstalled the iscan and pips components from the installation DVD, using Yast2.

Searching for scanner in Yast2 gives "greyed out" Epson RX 500 and blank Product and Vendor screens

ls /etc/sane.d gives dll.conf and epkowa.conf
less dll.conf <epkowa>
less epkowa.conf <full file> with usb uncommented

less /proc/bus/usb/devices recognises RX510 as 0x4b8 0x0807 on 005/004 as does /sbin/lsusb

Any help to get this working properly would be much appreciated

Thanks
