Unless you have two hard drives (one for root, and one for home), your data is most likely already lost. It's telling you that the drive isn't there...meaning, it's probably dead. Might be savable, though...have you made any changes lately? Updates? Edited your fstab file?
You can try to boot from a USB drive, drop to recovery/rescue mode, and see if you can list/see the partitions on your hard drive from there. If so, you *MIGHT* be able to mount them, and copy data off. But don't you have backups??? Ubuntu 18.04 is very old...time to upgrade.
