Red face ubuntu 18.04 is showing this script on booting.

You know my laptop running ubuntu 18.04 is showing this script on booting :
Gave up waiting for root file system device.
Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
Common problems:
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! UUID=6ea74d6f-6aef-4367-b658-1c9d853523b7 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
BusyBox v1.27.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.27.2-2ubuntu3.4) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
(initramfs)

Please how do i resolve this?
I dont want to loose my data.

No, actually we DON'T know what your laptop runs, unless you tell us.

Unless you have two hard drives (one for root, and one for home), your data is most likely already lost. It's telling you that the drive isn't there...meaning, it's probably dead. Might be savable, though...have you made any changes lately? Updates? Edited your fstab file?

You can try to boot from a USB drive, drop to recovery/rescue mode, and see if you can list/see the partitions on your hard drive from there. If so, you *MIGHT* be able to mount them, and copy data off. But don't you have backups??? Ubuntu 18.04 is very old...time to upgrade.
