Xubuntu 20.04, How to turn off all power saving?

I feel like I've looked at and turned off every possible setting to stop my desktop's screen from blanking after five minutes. Screensaver is disabled, XFCE4 Power Manager is disabled...and still it insists on blanking the screen within a few minutes of no mouse movement.

Grateful for any advice.

while i don't use xubuntu proper, i have one system with sparky linux that uses xfce and one with fedora that also uses xfce. on both there is a setting in power settings under the display tab for "blank after". when that is set to "never" for me the corresponding configuration file at /home/user/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-power-manager.xml (you would need to look in your user folder for a hidden .config directory) has a line with <property name="blank-on-ac" type="int" value="0"/> where the 0 refers to the "never" setting and keeps the screen from blanking.

if yours doesn't change with whatever the xubuntu version of power manager is, you should be able to change that value in the file. it may take a reboot to get the system to re-read that file and use the new setting.

Doesn't xfce4-power-manager have a "Presentation Mode"?

Also, I need to ask the question: why do you think you need this? For a presentation?

So I think I have it set up more to my liking now, though it all feels a bit more like luck rather than the XFCE power settings being intuitive.

@cordx: the config file did have the "0" values where they should be, and leaving Power Manager running but everything set to "never" seems to be what's required. I've stopped the screensaver from running at startup too.

@ondoho: Pure preference rather than need. I do recall seeing a "presentation mode" under one of the notification items in the xfce panel, on my laptop when 18.04 was installed, but I don't believe I ever used it.

Thanks for your advice, both!
