problem with \home\user folders

hi, im having a problem when i add a new user to my VL5 system, it doesnt seem to create a \home\newuser folder. do i need to create this folder manually? also when i log into that new user account and open a terminal, then type 'beaver' to open the beaver text editor, i get this error message..

'sh-3.00$ beaver
Segmentation fault'

im not sure what to do next

Try
useradd -m user
As for the segmentation fault - if it were mine, I'd uninstall and re-install the application.

But maybe the problem with the text editor is related, so see if the -m option works first.
That option doesn't just create the /home folder, it also adds a bunch of 'skeleton' files.
man useradd
will tell you all about it.

. i tried the -m option to usradd and it worked to set up the \home\newusr folder, after that i could also access the beaver editor, so yes it must have been a problem relating to not having a \home\newusr folder.
