Lightbulb RHCSA Win8.1 Dual Boot Lab Partitions

Hi guys,

I'm following the Michael Jang book with hopes to one day get an RCHSA.

I'm currently running Win8.1 and hope to add a second OS:

CENTOS KVM HOST with 3 VMs (CENTOS)

I have 300GB unallocated to play with. LVM I guess?

Can someone help me fill in the following and/or let me know if my numbers are wrong?

/ ? GB
/var/ 30 GB
/home/ ? GB
/swap/ 16GB
/boot/ 1GB

I should say I would like to go RHCE after, so would like the partitions to work throughout! Anything else I should be wary of?

Thanks

Modern RHEL will auto install on the available space if you set it up to do so (and since your new to it, I would go ahead and let the software handle that the first time). You probably want to choose "Virtual Host" as your configuration when the option comes up. Take the defaults the first time because this....

... is probably not going to happen. If you dont' hose the install down every week for the first three months you have it, you're not trying. Besides, installing this stuff is on the test, think of it as practice.
The RHEL tests are not as hard as people make them out to be. If you have this stuff under your fingertips everyday, most of it quickly becomes second nature. Think of it this way, if Slackware Zombies can figure it out, how hard can it be?
