very specific and clear guide?

im going to install MDK 9.2 tomorrow and the first thing i wanna do before installing anything else is upgrading the kernel to 2.6. i've been reading article, white papers, everything on upgrading the kernel but each has some part thats a bit confusing. anyone know of a good place that has a guide to upgrading the kernel and which also contains specifics on each part that is configurable in the kernel (firewire, IDE, cdrom, ACPI, etc etc etc)

thanks!

Apu

Please don't hijack existing threads....

I suggest that you post this a s a new thread with a descriptive title---AND give some details--such as what connection is going to feed all of this? DSL, Cable, T1?

In principle, you need:
A connection
A wireless transmitter
The SW that controls how many PCs can be connected at once (I dont know how this works, but I'm sure that you can get info from the websites of the people that make the transmitters.)
Wireless cards in the computers.
