Voicemail email troubles with Asterisk server

Okay, so here is the deal. My boss it out of town this weekend, I just started a new job and I am learning asterisk. The big boss wanted me to set-up a line in which people can call in and record a voice message and then this message will be forwarded out to multiple people.

Okay, not a problem. I set-up the line in extensions.conf and tested this with my email account in the voicemail.conf file and it worked fine. However, when I put the email address of the account that my boss set-up which is a forwarding account that sends mail to several users none of those users get the message.

Before I go back to my boss and tell him that the email account he set-up isn't working right I wanted to find out what might be the cause of this. I mean it is very odd because I sent an email to one user via gmail and she gets that email fine but when I put her email address in the voicemail.conf file she doesn't receive the message. When I put her gmail account in there she gets the email, same with my boss, he receives the message if I put his gmail in the voicemail.conf file.

Any thoughts? I hope I made some sense. I am monitoring Ike and chatting with several users right now.

Let me get this right.....

Gmail accounts work, but the "other" email accounts don't receive emails from the asterisk box?

The "other" email accounts are they external accounts or are they local?
On the same lan? The mailserver on the same lan? Spamfilter? Antivirus software?

The other accounts are remotely hosted, I suppose the issue could be with the spam filter, I guess I need to try and contact our account handler who deals with these other accounts (I just started as the new IT guy so not everything is in my hands yet) and find out if there is any reason why messages from our asterisk server are being blocked from the account we have set-up locally for the server.

Thanks for you reply and ideas.
