Please don't say it's urgent..we volunteer our time to help folks. And your question is fairly vague. You say:

What "opens source word processor"?? There are several...abiword, koffice, open office...what? Where is he getting the error, on the Windows system, or on the Linux system? In what program is he getting the error?

First thing I'd check is to make sure he's saving the document as the right type, rather than just changing the extension by hand. If he saves it as an openoffice document file, Windows only goes by the extension (.doc), and won't do anything else with it, if it sees it as 'corrupt'.

Documents

Hi there. Sorry then for using the word urgent , but for my friend it is urgent - it is his daily work documents.

It is in OpenOffice on Xandros Linux.

When he saves the document with "save as" and change the file type to Micorsoft Word Document (.doc). Also when he do cahnges on existing documents that, and saving them as MS Word Document types, he can't open them again.
