Dang !

Those are a lot of patches

Not surprising that there are -rc2's for this set ...

Thanks cwizardone.

Yeah, I usually hold back and let the dust settle when there's that many. I'll sit on 6.2.2 for a point release or two.

When I searched listed patches, most of them did not concern me e.g. ARM, SCSI,AMD, fuse ocfs2 and so on. So once I discard what is not relevant, I see standard bunch of weekly pat hes for my system

all --

Generic Kernel Version 6.1.16.kjh is running fine on my Slackware64 15.0 + Multilib LapTop.

No CVE References were found for 6.2.3, 6.1.16 or 5.15.99, but as always, do check the ChangeLogs for other security-related fixes.

My nvidia driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-525.89.02.run works ok with 6.1.y and 6.2.y, but when I exit KDE and return to a terminal, the keyboard works, but there is no video until I reboot or just type startx at the blank terminal window. I guess there's a fix somewhere, but it's not made its way to my door.

jkh2cpu --

I boot runlevel 3 and I run NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-525.89.02.run on Slackware64 15.0 +Alien Bob's MultiLib with the 6.1.y kernel.

I've not tried 6.2.y yet but I will this weekend when I apply and test a Kernel Patch for my Discrete Thunderbolt 4

Anyhow ... when I exit KDE and return to runlevel 3 I see console text.

I wonder what's different, yours -vs- mine ?

I'm running current, and you are on 15.0. There was a change to the kernel about 6.1.y that fouled things up. It's Nvidia's problem as far as I can tell.

Thanks jkh2cpu.

Yes I remember those LQ Posts and the Kernel Dev's response about the issue now that you mention it
